Durable, elegant materials for a premium kitchen.
In a premium kitchen, the quality of materials is essential. Opt for durable, aesthetically pleasing materials that will stand the test of time and add a touch of sophistication to your culinary space. Popular choices include :
Quartzite
A beautiful, durable natural rock, perfect for worktops and credenzas. Its luxurious appearance and scratch resistance make it an ideal choice for a high-end kitchen. For a kitchen renovation, we selected Quartzite from Gambini for its unrivalled qualities.
Oak wood
Often used for closet doors, oak wood brings a natural warmth and luxurious texture to the space. We chose to work with Benois Cosi from C and CO, a carpenter known for his high-quality wood and impeccable craftsmanship.
TIPS : As a renewable material, oak wood offers a lower carbon footprint than other building materials.
Bronze-colored aluminum foil
Bronze-colored aluminum sheets create a warm ambience that changes with the light of day. Strategically positioned, such as on drawer fronts, credenzas or even as decorative elements on central islands, they catch the sun's reflections and offer a palette of different shades throughout the day.
In addition to their visual effect, bronze-colored aluminum foil adds a textured, modern dimension to your high-end kitchen, creating an elegant contrast with other materials such as wood and stone. Their versatility makes them easy to integrate into a variety of decorating styles, from contemporary to traditional.
Details for your premium kitchen
In addition to the basic materials, it's often the small details that make all the difference in a high-end kitchen. Here are a few elements that add a unique touch and perfect finishes:
Brass handles
Brass handles give your cabinets and drawers a luxurious, golden look. In addition to their shiny finish, they offer a solid, durable grip. For one of our projects, we chose brass handles for closet doors, for their refined aesthetic and superior quality (see image below).
The aged mirror
Adding a distressed mirror to the back of the worktop creates a sense of space and adds a touch of vintage charm to the kitchen. We found our distressed mirror at Miroiterie du Vieux Port, renowned for its unique pieces and craftsmanship.
TIPS : Located at the back of a worktop, mirrors can be used to enlarge your kitchen, to chat with people with their backs to you, or to admire the view of a garden, for example. (See image below).
Ambient lighting
Lighting above the worktop is essential for optimum visibility when preparing meals. In addition to pendant lighting, for example above the central island, consider integrating ambient lighting to create a warm atmosphere in your high-end kitchen. Elegant wall sconces or recessed spotlights can be judicious choices for illuminating circulation areas and highlighting the details of your space.
At MAISON TCHENIO, we're big fans of small accent lamps that can be positioned in different places around the house. For a kitchen project, we placed two small battery-operated lamps on the worktop, close to the hobs. We invite you to read our latest article on lighting!
Wall art
Add an artistic touch to your kitchen by hanging artwork or framed photographs on the walls. Choose pieces that reflect your personal style and complement the aesthetic theme of your high-end kitchen for a luxurious, welcoming ambience.
At MAISON TCHENIO, we love wallpaper! Take a look at this beautiful kitchen in a villa in Aix-en-Provence, where we added wallpaper to the back wall.
